FOOTBALL IS BACK! Ideas for Game Time Warm Ups and In-Game Routines

I've had many snappers ask me over the past few days on what to do for game time warm ups and how to remain loose during games. Below you will find the suggested warm-ups and routines to be best prepared for success on GAME DAY!

SUGGESTED GAME TIME WARM-UPS

#1 STRETCH > 5-10 MINS
Hamstrings
Quads
Hip Flexers
Hips
Groin
Lower Back
Shoulders
Wrists
Anything else that might be tight


#2 WARM UP > 15 MINS
Alternating Throws -- UNTIL LOOSE
Full Extension Foreheads (No Legs) x 10
Half Bends x 5-7
Snap on Air, Snap Ball (12 Yards) x 4-5
Snap on Air, Snap Ball (15 Yards) x 2-3
Live Punt Snaps (15 Yards) -- UNTIL WARM

#3 SPECIAL TEAMS WARM UP > 
TIME DIFFERS PER TEAM
Warm up with Kickers and Punters -- UNTIL LOOSE

SUGGESTED GAME ROUTINE


- - ONLY PLAY LONG SNAPPER - -

YOUR TEAM'S ON OFFENSE

#1 The ball is between the opponents 35 yard line and your endzone x 1-2 PUNT snaps with a punter/helper/net between 2nd and 3rd Down

#2 The ball is between the opponents endzone and their 35 yard line x 3-4 PAT/FG snaps with a holder/helper once inside the zone then x 1-2 at the between 2nd and 3rd Down


YOUR TEAM'S ON DEFENSE

#1 Some walking Forehead Snaps, Occasional Snaps on Air, Jump on a Stationary Bike, Stay Loose, Etc... Be aware of the game situations and DO NOT get snap happy!

 

- - PLAY LONG SNAPPER & OFFENSIVE POSITION STARTER - -

YOUR TEAM'S ON OFFENSE

PUNT & PAT/FG Get a QUICK snap on air in! Walk up to the ball doing a few wrists snaps!

YOUR TEAM'S ON DEFENSE

Alternate between PUNT & FG Snaps x 1-2 snaps with a punter/holder/helper/net between 2nd and 3rd Down

YOUR TEAM'S ON OFFENSE

Alternate between PUNT & FG Snaps x 1-2 snaps with a punter/holder/helper/net during breaks
