NOLAN's LONG SNAPPING endorsements
JOE CALCAGNO | PARENT, JOE CALCAGNO JR., PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS
Nolan, I want to thank you for being a great coach and role model to my son Joe. Prior to coming to you, Joe had a passion for long snapping, but no instructor in the Chicago area to help perfect that skill on a weekly basis. He has thrived under your tutelage. I also want to compliment you on your work with the other guys. I have sat through a few sessions with kids from the Class of 2017 in which the kids couldn't snap a ball ten feet and within weeks, they grasped the concept. And I smile now as I see all of them continuing their careers at great Colleges. Your guys are always in the mix at the National Camps. That is impressive!
OSCAR MORGAN SR. | PARENT, C/O '21 LONG SNAPPER, CARPENTERSVILLE, IL
Nolan is totally in tune with the long snapping art and the individual kids needs. The main reason he has my son not only wanting to come back but actually loving what he is doing everyday! Its amazing to see a 13 year old want to do something as technical and difficult everyday, so definitely a credit to Nolan!
PARENT | C/O '19 LONG SNAPPER, WHEATON, IL
Nolan, just a quick note of thanks for all the work you’ve done with my son. His improvement in the last 4 months is incredible and he loves working with you. He’s way more confident, his skills are improving and he is seeing the results. I believe it’s a direct result of the hard work he’s putting in but as important, the instruction he’s getting. You are doing an excellent job. Just thought I’d let you know!
TOM & MICHELLE SAK | PARENT, HAYDEN SAK, NORTHERN ILLINOIS HUSKIES
Hayden has been working with Nolan for over 3 years now and we feel so lucky to have found him as a snapping coach!! Through Nolan's mentoring, support and deep knowledge of the art of snapping Hayden went from being unknown to being ranked #14 snapper in the US. He had zero exposure to long snapping and Nolan transformed Hayden into a full scholarship D1 athlete! Hayden couldn't have achieved that without Nolan's commitment, character and encouragement. The best advice I can give to your student-athletes and their parents is to put their trust in you, and follow the system. You are a role model as a person, for the position you coach, and for the results you deliver. We can't thank you enough Nolan! With you behind Hayden, The League could be next!!!!
PHIL SPIEWAK | PARENT, AUSTIN SPIEWAK, IOWA HAWKEYES
Thanks for all the help with Austin. No doubt about it - you have improved his performance - wish we would have known of you sooner! I'm sure he will still work with you in the future during breaks. We'll see how this all turns out - but it is a distinct blessing to having dream of being on a team and that dream comes true through snapping!
BOB BOYLE | PARENt, Camden Boyle, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE REDHAWKS
I have been quite impressed with Coach Nolan. Since Camden began his first professional training in late 2014, the difference is marked and the drive from Cam is only surpassed by Coach Nolan. He works on the entirety of the snapping process -- making the snappers as versatile as possible and setting them up for success. Coach Nolan works on the details to ensure consistency and continuous improvement. Lastly, his approach with his athletes puts the burden on them to excel and compete, making them better long snappers, better competitors, and better men. Thank you coach!
JOHN WIRTEL JR. | KANSAS JAYHAWKS
Nolan has helped me make tremendous strides with my long snapping and without him I can honestly say I would not be where I am today.
NICK ADAMS | CENTRAL MICHIGAN CHIPPEWAS
Nolan and Family, A simple thank you cannot do justice to all you guys have done for me. You told me long snapping would take me places I never expected to go and I completely bought into it from day one. I have completely trusted every adjustment you had made to me as a long snapper. I can say with 100% certainty that without those long and sometimes stressful lessons I would never be able to play Division 1 football. Nothing is better than the feeling of overcoming tremendous odds. Without your family, I would never have the opportunities I have today. Most importantly though I consider you family. I Look forward to working with you over the next few years to see just how far long snapping can take me.
BRIAN MAYER | NORTHERN ILLINOIS HUSKIES
Nolan helped me to get where I am today. By being Nolan’s back-up my freshman year at Northern Illinois University, it allowed a lot of time for him to focus on helping me. The drills he taught helped out significantly. By winning the snapping job in 2011 at NIU I earned a scholarship. I work out with him frequently at Nolan's group lessons, and he shows me many new things about my form that I did not notice. I recommend Nolan for his unbelievable knowledge with snapping. He can make a nobody into a somebody with his dedication to long snapping.
TOM GILL | PARENT, THOMAS "TUCK" GILL, EASTERN MICHIGAN EAGLES
My son started training with Nolan during his sophomore year of high school. During that time we attended close to a dozen out of state "specialist" camps. After meeting and working with a lot of different coaches, we realized that Nolan is by far the best Long Snapping coach out there! Currently, my son is a freshman at a D1 FBS school, competing for the starting Long Snapper spot. All the credit goes to Nolan and my son for all the hard work they put in.
DAN HEILBRON SR. | PARENT, Dan Heilbron Jr., SOUTHERN ILLINOIS SALUKIS
Nolan Owen is absolutely the premier long snapping coach in the area. Nolan was personally responsible for not only training my son Dan, but for getting him the opportunity (and scholarship) to play Division One Football at SIU. Every lesson, private or group, with Nolan is one on one. I am thoroughly convinced that any kid willing to work will succeed with Nolan's assistance. Nolan's expertise extends far beyond the lessons as is evident from his drill sheets, knowledge of the college recruiting process, and interaction with the parents. Lessons with Nolan are a must for any HS snapper interested in snapping at the college level.
RON GAINES, JR. | PARENT, C/O '18 Long Snapper, CHICAGO, IL
It's not by chance that Nolan's students are some of the BEST in the NATION. Year after year. He is dedicated to helping these boys reach their potential. It's become common at competitions that the only guy that can beat a Nolan guy is another Nolan guy. Fantastic 5 Star Instructor.
AL YELICH | PARENT, JAKE YELICH, TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS
Without a doubt, Nolan Owen is one of the best long snapping instructors in the country. My son came to him late in the process and within minutes, Nolan was able to pin point the areas that my son needed to work on in order to improve his accuracy and snap speeds. My son and I were so impressed after his first lesson, that we decided the 3 hour round trip commute from Northwest Indiana was worth every second. Attending weekly and bi-weekly group and private lessons, Nolan was able to take my son from being ranked 66th in the country to 13th, from number 4 in Indiana to number 1 and from a 4.5 star athlete to a 5 star athlete. The great thing about Nolan is he not only teaches his students how to long snap, he teaches them how to be men, what to expect in college, what pitfalls to avoid in the recruiting process and the precise steps they need take in order to be successful. If they put in the effort to improve and are coachable, he will exhaust himself trying to find his guys a place to play in college. Nolan Owen is the reason my son accepted a preferred walk on to the University of Tennessee. As people always say “if you want to be the best, you have to train with the best” and Nolan Owen is the best.
JOHN WIRTEL | PARENT, JOHN & STEVEN WIRTEL, KANSAS JAYHAWKS & IOWA STATE CYCLONES
Nolan I want to thank you for training my boys for the last 4 years. Because of your hard work and knowledge John went on to be a true Freshman starter at Kansas and has been the starter for the past 3 years. Steven went on to be a true Freshman starter at Iowa State! None of this would have been possible without your guidance. The boys look forward to continuing their training with you. Thanks again.
JOHN ARENT | PARENT, NELSON ARENT, PURDUE BOILERMAKERS
Nolan Owen has the ability to make any long snapper a better long snapper. Once Nelson determined he was committed to long snapping, we searched the country for the best long snapping instruction available. We found a lot of camps and clinics providing the same basic introduction to long snapping. We also found a lot of people willing to take our money and promise their ranking system would lead to a scholarship for Nelson. Nolan was able to determine where Nelson needed to improve and he provided instruction tailored to making Nelson a better snapper. To this day, each time Nelson visits Nolan his snapping improves. We live in Nashville Tennessee and I have found visiting Nolan in Chicago to be an affordable and effective way to help Nelson work toward his dream of snapping at the next level. We appreciate the depth of training and the small group atmosphere Nolan offers. We try to visit Nolan every two to six weeks. Between visits, Nolan provides Drill Sheets and virtual lessons that ensure Nelson continues to progress between visits. I promise any Long Snapper that commits to the Nolan's training program can become as great as they are willing to be. Thank you Nolan for all of the expertise, time and support you have provided to Nelson.
TAMARA ARENT | PARENT, NELSON ARENT, PURDUE BOILERMAKERS
Until recently, I never understood why my husband and my son felt so strongly about Nolan Owen's training. This summer, Nelson and I have been visiting college specialist camps. I was very proud to see how Nelson compared to the other Long Snappers. I never expected the attention we received from the coaches at these big schools (4 SEC schools and 4 BIG 10 schools). Nelson gives Nolan credit for his Long Snapping ability. I also noticed that many of the other top performers at the college camps also trained with Nolan Owen. Thank you Nolan.
